Our contribution to the learning material for Latvian schools "A Journey in the World of Industrial Property"
Studies of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) show that young people feel the lack of information about IP that would help them to understand its framework. They admit that the information available is not communicated to their age group in the most appealing way. Whilst countries where intellectual property framework is being addressed starting the primary school are distinguished by better innovation and economic growth.
Inspired by the mentioned goals, trademark attorneys and lawyers Kristīne Ostrovska and Gatis Meržvinskis participated in developing the methodological edition for Latvian schools called “A Journey in the World of Industrial Property”. Our trademark attorneys shared their knowledge and professional experience in IP protection and enforcement to help school children and teenagers to comprehend the concept of IP.
This learning material of the Patent Office of the Republic of Latvia is intended to help teachers and students in Latvian schools from the 1st to 12th grade. It is designed to foster creativity and inventiveness of young people, while at the same time rising awareness about IP values.
